Bloggers And Bellinis (or A Fabulous Brunch With Fabulous People)

I’ve attended several events that have been organized by Eventbrite (the amazing online ticketing service that I’ve used so many times!). I’ve always had an amazing time, so when I got an email inviting me to Bloggers And Bellinis, I RSVPed yes right away!

The brunch was held at 41 Ocean, which is a private club right by the Santa Monica Pier. This was my first time there, and since it is a bit hidden, I had to circle back to find it. Our brunch was held in the courtyard, and it was so pretty!

It was assigned seating at the brunch (it gave me a great opportunity to chat with bloggers I didn’t know). I loved the message that Leila, the marketing manager for Eventbrite, wrote on my place card!

We had a couple of options for our main course for brunch.

I chose the omelet. And of course, since it was brunch, there was champagne.

I spent a lot of time chatting with the three other bloggers at my table and getting advice from them on how to make my blog grow and be better (I’m hoping to have some improvements on here in the coming months!). I’ve found it tough to find supportive bloggers out there (people seem to not want to share information), but fortunately, I was seated with super supportive people!

Eventually, our food came.

There was also fruit, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and salad at the table (I forgot to take pictures of those). It was a really yummy and filling meal, and I had the best dessert at the table!

These are macarons from Napoleon’s Macarons! They were seriously so delicious! And they gave me a secret discount word to share with you all! If you want to try a 6 pack of macarons (and why wouldn’t you?), whisper “Bonjour Napoleon” and you will get 40% off of your 6 macarons (offer is good through August 27th)!

After the meal, Leila led all of us in a trivia game about Eventbrite.

I got 7 out of 10 questions right, so I knew a bunch, but sadly didn’t win (the winner got a $50 credit to attend any event on Eventbrite!).

Finally, it was time to say goodbye to my fellow bloggers. I had a bunch of errands I wanted to get done over the weekend, and even though I wanted to stay at brunch all day, I knew I needed to head home.

On my way out, I got a fabulous gift bag.

And it was filled with some awesome goodies including things from Krave Jerky, KIND Bars, Cardio Barre, Uber (this link is good for a $10 credit!), and Pretzel Crisps.

This was such a wonderful event to go to, and I wanted to thank Leila for inviting me! I’m already looking forward to my next Eventbrite event!

Brows and Bubbly (or Another Fun Evening Out With Eventbrite)

On Tuesday night, I got to go to another fun event. This was run by Eventbrite, the same company that did the Spa Night Out at Burke Williams. Eventbrite is an online ticketing service. And one thing I love about getting my tickets through their site is that they have an iPhone app that you can use instead of printing your tickets! This is great for someone like me who is normally running from one place to another (and usually forgets to print things out in the morning). The app is free, and you can also use it to discover new events and buy tickets.

The event this week, called Brows and Bubbly, was held at Benefit on 3rd St. I love Benefit makeup (I have a bunch of it at home), but I had never been to a Benefit Boutique. It was so cute inside!

My ticket included one service and I chose an eyebrow wax. This is something that I do pretty regularly (I was born with a pretty bad unibrow), but this was a much nicer eyebrow wax than the place I normally go to (where I ran into my ex-bff). After my eyebrow wax, I got to have a mini-makeover/makeup application done. All of the Benefit products were out.

And considering that I just had a wax done, I think I looked pretty good afterwards!

I’m pretty picky when it comes to makeup. My skin is very sensitive, and it’s hard to match colors to me because I’m so pale (I’ve had more than one makeup artist mix a white base with foundation to match my skin). I loved the products that were used on my face this time! And I decided to purchase two. I got a concealer as well as the “That Gal” primer.

The primer really evened out my skin tone and blended in super nicely with my skin. Plus, it smelled delicious!

After making my purchases, I decided to see what else Eventbrite had set up for us.

There was some champagne (hence the bubbly in the event name).

And cupcakes and popcorn.

But since my stomach wasn’t feeling so great that day, I just had water.

Before I knew it, it was time for me to head home. But before I left, I got another amazing gift bag from Eventbrite! This time, it had some delicious treats (which I shared with my co-workers at my day job), makeup samples, another Uber gift card, and more spa passes to Burke Williams! I’m totally set for going on lots of spa adventures in the near future!

Thank you again to EventbriteLA for throwing another amazing event (and inviting me to attend)! I had the best time and am already looking forward to the next event! I promise to share the next event I’m going to with all of you so you can join in!

Spa Night Out (or Why Burke Williams Might Have Beaten Disneyland As The Happiest Place On Earth)

About a week ago, I had seen on Facebook a discount code for tickets to Spa Night Out. I wasn’t exactly sure what Spa Night Out was, but I saw that it was going to be at Burke Williams and there was a gift bag, so I figured why not! I was just hoping for a better experience than I had at Pamper Me Fabulous.

And boy oh boy was this an amazing experience!

First of all, there were some amazing hosts (and they didn’t pay me or give me free tickets to say this, these are my own opinions). The event was hosted by Eventbrite and Spaphile. I was already familiar with Eventbrite. They are an online ticketing service that I already love. I’ve bought a ton of tickets through them, and we used them for tickets for the screening of my twitter documentary. But Spaphile has now become one of my new favorite things. They are a membership program that connects spas to customers by offering discounts! I love spas and I love discounts! I did buy a membership after this event because I have already planned a bunch of places that I want to try with my discount.

Anyway, back to the event. There were a ton of free things to check out. And by free, I actually mean free!

My first stop was the mini-manicure/polish change station.

I decided on the OPI color Jade Is The New Black.

IMG_1534

I almost never get my nails done because I always seems to chip so fast. But since this was free, I had to do it! And I have to say that after 3 days, I don’t have any chips yet!

IMG_1535

My next stop on my spa journey was to the moisturizing hand massage station.

IMG_1542

(sorry for the bad photos, I only had my iPhone with me)

The hand massage was wonderful, and the lotion that was used smelled delicious! Plus, I had a very nice chat with the woman who was doing the massage, so that was fun.

Finally, I got to have my mini-massage. With the ticket I bought I wasn’t guaranteed it, but I put myself on the waitlist as soon as I arrived, and I managed to snag one of the very last mini-massage appointments of the evening! It was wonderful. The massage therapist asked me which areas I would like him to focus on, and since I spend so much time hunched over a computer, iPhone, or iPad; I asked for him to focus on my neck, shoulders, and back. It was so relaxing, and pretty long for a mini-massage. It was about 25 minutes!

Finally, it was time for me to head out. I stopped by the front desk to pick up my gift bag (which was filled with so many amazing goodies!).

IMG_1544

And the woman behind the desk said I also had this waiting for me.

IMG_1545

When I checked in for the event, there was a fishbowl to put business cards in to. They had a raffle, and of course I entered, but I never win so I wasn’t expecting anything.

Turns out, I won the grand prize!!!

IMG_1546

I get to come back to Burke Williams in West Hollywood to have a free facial! I’m so excited for this!

Also in the gift bag were some passes to come back to the spa and enjoy some discounted treatments. I will totally be taking advantage of those. While I was waiting for my massage, I was reading the spa menu and they have a lot of treatments that I’d love to try.

Overall, I have to say that this was one of the best evenings I’ve had in a long time. I was coming off a bit of a funk before this event, and this seemed to have turn everything around!

Thanks again to Eventbrite and Spaphile for hosting this event. If you see another event that they are hosting, I highly recommend getting a ticket for it (I know I’ll be!)!
